Can we link a Bionics Instrument detector to another alarm system?
Question:

We would like to expand our existing alarm system with detectors of Bionics Instrument. How easy is it to integrate your detectors in existing systems?

Answer:

Of course it depends on the make and configuration of your system.

The easiest way, which works in 95% of the situations, is to use the 4-20mA output signal of the Bionics Instrument detectors. Nearly all alarm systems have an input for this type of signal.

Another very basic method of linking a Bionics Instrument detector to another system is to use the signal from potential free output contacts, which are for example optional on the TX-WAD and SH-WAD gas detection units. Sometimes links to building fire detection systems are made in this way.

Integration into bus line systems is also possible. However more information will be required to see if a reliable link can be made.
